P Griggs Construction was formed in 2008 by Paul Griggs and Steven Swick. We have gained years of diverse professional experiences prior to our partnership, and together have developed a better building company. We continue our pursuit of excellence through training, increasing product, systems and code knowledge and learning from all job experiences. We have created better communication and building management systems that make us a unique construction team and flexible problem solvers in a rapidly changing industry.
We also are improving our associations with some of the finest building trade associates, designers and architects in town. I feel our involvement early in new home and renovation projects produces a better building experience and product for our clients.
We appreciate our growing list of dedicated clients for the business they have entrusted us with and their references. We provide contact information for this purpose with permission from our clients.

PARTNER BIO
Paul Griggs, with 7 years professional licensed construction management experience and 12 years of building experience, choreographs a team of artisans to work with clients looking to build green using natural materials and environmentally friendly systems. He is a native to Traverse City, Michigan. Paul was formally educated at Michigan State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the College of Social Science with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science – Human Resources and Society. After completing a two year home and boat building apprenticeship with John Patterson, Paul began his career. Paul is also married and a father of two children, raising them in his childhood neighborhood. As a community leader and volunteer, Paul serves on the City of Traverse City’s Board of Zoning Appeals and contributes time to local organizations.
Steve Swick, a professional carpenter with 12 years experience, is the job site foreman and lead carpenter. Steve’s practical experiences vary from commercial framing, detailed residential trim and hardware, to general building skills using materials like steel, masonry and concrete. Steve’s creative and problem solving abilities allow him to foreman jobs and produce excellent results, safe working conditions and good working relationships between crews. Steve is a father of two children, and takes pride in raising them in Northern Michigan.
I have found that life is only as difficult as you make it, and if you can’t smile every day, then you need to change it. I am a dad and a carpenter, and I smile every day. I find absolute joy in what I do and love to step back and admire our work.
